Every two years the Roanoke Valley Garden Club hosts an outstanding speaker event. Each speaker is chosen for his or her knowledge of topics, breadth of experience, and potential to educate attendees on subjects of gardening, cooking, flower arranging and entertaining, decorating, and style.
Past speakers include some of the country’s most well-known and sought after floral arrangers like Ron Morgan and Tony Todesco. Also featured in 2015 — acclaimed cookbook author, interior decorator, and Editor-At-Large at Southern Living, James Farmer.
A full house is expected at the Patrick Henry Hotel to hear Ms. Danielle Rollins, acclaimed author and lifestyle expert and contributing editor at Veranda and Southern Living magazines.
The Roanoke Valley Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) organization and relies heavily on charitable donations to provide educational programs of valley-wide interest and encourage and fund civic beautification.
Organized in 1925, the Roanoke Valley Garden Club is a member of the Garden Club of Virginia. The organization’s purpose is to educate the public on horticultural subjects, promote amateur gardening, protect the environment, encourage conservation of natural resources, promote civic planning and planting, stimulate an interest in artistic design of plants, and aid in the preservation and restoration of historic gardens in Virginia.
